Now that the 2022 season has come to an end for the NY Giants, it’s time for general manager Joe Schoen to look towards the future. For a while, the expectation was the G-Men would end up going with a quarterback with their first pick in this spring’s draft, but things have definitely changed for Schoen and the front office.
With Daniel Jones expected to return next season – either with a new deal or after being tagged – a lot of people are hoping the Giants go with either a wide receiver for the future, or a stud linebacker. Schoen will have plenty of eyes on him when the Giants are on the board, as they will be making the 25th overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.

NY Giants’ first-round pick is No. 25 overall
Technically the Giants would have the No. 26 overall pick, but as insider Ryan Dunleavy mentioned above, the Dolphins had to forfeit their first-round pick, meaning the Giants will only have 24 players off the board before it’s Schoen’s turn to make a selection.
A lot of people are hoping that Schoen will bring in a WR1 for Jones to throw the ball to starting next fall. It’s no secret that the WRs room needs a complete and total overhaul, as the unit this year not only struggled to stay healthy, but they weren’t reliable catching the ball from Jones, outside of Isaiah Hodgins that is.
Once the Giants are on the clock, a guy to keep an eye on is no question USC speedster Jordan Addison. Several mock drafts over the past month have the Giants taking the former Biletnikoff winner.
He’d be an electric addition for this offense and the kind of player Jones and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka need. The ’23 NFL Draft really can’t get here soon enough, as it’s going to be a big weekend for Schoen to keep adding young talent for this team.
