Tom Brady and the Bucs boosted with Ryan Jenson ‘set to come off the injured list’ | Daily Mail Online

Days after Tom Brady praised how vigilant he has been in recovering from a knee injury, Ryan Jensen is set to come off injured reserve for the Bucs.

The Tampa Bay Times reported on Wednesday that Jensen will be eligible to return to the 53-man roster in time for Sunday’s game against Carolina Panthers, where a victory would clinch a playoff place.

The Times adds, however, that the Bucs will take it ‘one day at a time’ with regard to his availability.

Jensen sustained a left knee injury during a training camp practice on July 29 and was placed on injured reserve Sept. 1.

Ryan Jensen is set to come off the injured list in a timely boost for Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Earlier this week, Tom Brady praised Jensen’s vigilance in recovery from a knee injury

The 31-year-old missed 15 regular-season games but didn’t require surgery.

‘I know he’s been very vigilant with his rehab,’ quarterback Tom Brady said Monday on his Let’s Go! podcast. ‘I don’t know. (when he’ll be back). I don’t think anyone knows right now.

‘I know he’s a lot closer and I know he’s itching to be out there. I see him every day, I try to encourage him every day.’

Jensen has started all 65 regular season games and six postseason contests since signing with Tampa Bay prior to the 2018 season.

The 2021 Pro Bowl selection has played 100 games (90 starts) for the Bucs and Baltimore Ravens (2014-17), who drafted him in the sixth round in 2013.

In their last game, the Bucs rallied in the fourth quarter to overturn a 10-point deficit with 11 minutes left on the clock against the Arizona Cardinals.

‘Defense really stepped up and down 10 in the fourth quarter on the road, it was great to find a way to win,’ Brady said in the aftermath.

If Brady and Jenson’s Bucs win on Sunday, they will book their place in the playoffs

‘In the fourth quarter we executed pretty well, broke some tackles, ran hard, a lot of guys made plays in the pass game, contested catches, guys hit as soon as they caught it and came up with it.

‘I think it was a total effort in the second half, especially the fourth quarter. Our defense getting stops and our offense cashing in with timely plays.

‘It seemed like we played better in the fourth quarter. If we can transfer that to the other three we’d be pretty consistent. But it was a hard-fought win.

‘We needed it and we got it, no matter how pretty it looked or didn’t look pretty. Now we’re set up for next week.’
