NY Giants WR Kenny Golladay shouldn’t receive a single target vs. Lions

The NY Giants continue to win football games despite getting absolutely nothing out of $72 million man Kenny Golladay. Golladay was finally healthy from his knee injury and the Giants coaching staff talked him up as a possible contributor this past week against the Houston Texans.

The only thing he contributed was more headaches for the Giants and their fanbase. Golladay had two targets. One of them was an unbelievable drop that was inexcusable. It was a main reason why we didn’t see him on the field in the final 30 minutes of play. It’s also a reason why Daniel Jones shouldn’t look his way at all come Week 11.

Kenny Golladay admitted to being “frustrated” by the whole situation. Called this the most challenging time of his career b/c of lack of production.

Brian Daboll explained his benching by saying:

“We just made a decision to play Isaiah (Hodgins). It was as simple as that.”

WR Kenny Golladay has lost virtually all of his fans in New York

The Giants can’t trust Golladay at all and they can’t afford to give him any targets next week against the Detroit Lions. The Golladay we saw last year against the New Orleans Saints is long gone. This current version of Golladay is doing more harm than good for the offense. Jones needs to use his other options.

Despite being on the Giants for just a week, Isaiah Hodgins produced in the role people expected Golladay would, as he caught both of his targets for 41 yards. Hodgins has some familiarity with the offense after spending time with Giants head coach Brian Daboll in Buffalo. As Hodgins role increases, it can mean even less play for Golladay. The re-emergence of Darius Slayton has also been a big plus for the NY Giants passing attack.

Isaiah Hodgins looks just like Kenny Golladay, only younger, cheaper and today he’s catching the ball.

The Giants are desperate for wide receiver help, so it’s possible they keep trying to make things work with Golladay, but it might be time to start fresh. After his second-half benching vs. the Texans, who knows, he may not even see the field vs. Detroit.

Things are not working and this new regime has showed urgency in seeing guys make plays elsewhere. It’s possible if the team can seal the deal and sign Odell Beckham Jr. That would make everyone forget about the living nightmare that Golladay has provided. Kenny G isn’t expected to do much of anything for this offense the rest of 2022. Talk about a shame.
