Nittany Lions In The NFL: Week 10 Recap

Although it was a quiet week for many Nittany Lions in the NFL, week 10 still had plenty of notable moments for those who used to wear black shoes and basic blues.

Saquon Barkley’s electric day and a touchdown from Chris Godwin highlighted the week for Penn Staters across the NFL. Here’s a rundown of how some Nittany Lion alumni did on the gridiron this week.

Saquon Barkley, New York Giants

Barkley had a monster game and one of his best performances of the season so far. The running back rumbled for 152 yards on 35 carries and scored a touchdown in the Giants’ close win over the Texans.

It’s routine for @saquon at this point 🤷‍♂

Barkley has now rushed for 931 yards in his comeback season, the most in the NFL. Believe the hype, folks.

Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Chris Godwin was feeling sehr gut in Munich, Germany. The wide receiver caught six passes for 71 yards and hauled in a touchdown from Tom Brady in the Bucs’ 21-16 over the Seahawks.

Surprisingly, it was the first touchdown of the season for Godwin, who now has posted 48 receptions for 475 yards in eight games played this year.

Micah Parsons, Dallas Cowboys

Parsons had an unusually quiet game in Dallas’ close loss to the Packers on Saturday. The reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year was responsible for seven tackles, including one for a loss.

The Defensive Player of the Year candidate has totaled 43 tackles and eight sacks through nine games this season.

Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers

Freiermuth grabbed four passes for 36 yards in the Steelers’ win over the New Orleans Saints at Acrisure Stadium. His 403 yards on the season put him well on pace to surpass his rookie mark of 497, though, he’s hauled in just one touchdown so far this season.

Robbie Gould, San Francisco 49ers

The eldest active Nittany Lion was back in action on Sunday just weeks away from his 40th birthday. Gould nailed three field goals but missed an extra point in the 49ers’ Sunday Night Football win over the Chargers.

Miles Sanders, Philadelphia Eagles

Miles Sanders totaled 54 yards on the ground in the Eagles’ shocking loss to the Commanders on Monday Night Football. Washington ended Philadelphia’s bid for an undefeated season on the road at Lincoln Financial Field.
