NFL Twitter is furious over Tom Brady roughing the passer call (Video)

The rules are different for Tom Brady. You all know this, yet you clicked on the article anyway. Against the Falcons, the Buccaneers QB got the call, as he often does.

Brady is not brittle. As much as he likes to pull the 45-year-old quarterback card when he needs to, this guy isn’t playing with a broken hip like your grandpa in his retirement home league. He remains in tremendous shape, as he always is.

Against the Falcons on Sunday, Brady received a gift of a roughing the passer call on Grady Jarrett. The Atlanta pass-rusher took every precaution necessary, only to receive a late flag in part thanks to Brady’s protest.

This is absolutely the worst roughing the passer call I’ve seen in a long long time. Absolute joke to screw over the Falcons like this just to baby Brady. These refs should be suspended pic.twitter.com/PZsolvLAw4

Oh, brother.

You’re not gonna believe it — that call directly led to a Buccaneers victory.

Brady is the best quarterback of all-time, no one will second guess that fact. However, he also receives the benefit of the doubt from officials in an era predicated on rules to protect the QB. When he needs to implore for such a call, he will. Against Atlanta, it just so happened to come on a critical missed third-down opportunity.

The refs are protecting Brady for the announcing booth next season.

Tom Brady trying to kick an opposing player, immediately getting up and begging for a roughing the passer call and getting it is the most Tom fucking Brady thing I’ve ever seen pic.twitter.com/JUEMjcOI76

I know we overreact to penalty calls. But the roughing the passer called on Grady Jarrett against Tom Brady was one that legitimately makes you wonder about the legitimacy of the sport. It was a routine tackle.

With the win, the Buccaneers will move to 3-2 on the season and hold the first place spot in the NFC South.
