  • 69% of the ATS tickets are on Jacksonville as 2.5-point underdogs
  • Check out the comprehensive breakdown of the Jaguars vs Jets public betting splits below

The stakes are high on Thursday Night Football as the Jets host the Jaguars. Jacksonville can capture the AFC South crown by winning its final three games, while New York desperately needs a victory to keep its playoff hopes alive.

The betting public is throwing their support behind the Jags as a short-road underdog per the NFL public betting trends, but that hasn’t stopped the spread from moving toward the Jets.

Jaguars vs Jets ATS Betting Splits

New York opened as 1-point favorites, but that number didn’t last long. The line moved to Jets -1.5 early in the week and has since moved another point in NYJ’s favor.

That line movement happened in spite of the majority of the spread tickets and money coming in on Jacksonville. The Jaguars are currently drawing 69% of the ATS wagers and 58% of the handle. What those numbers do tell us though, is that big-money bettors are backing New York. The Jets are garnering 42% of the spread money off of only 31% of the tickets.

The Jags love certainly isn’t based on trends. Trevor Lawrence is 4-11 ATS on the road over his career, covering in just two of seven games away from home this season.

He’s also been horrific when drawing the bulk of the spread money. Lawrence is 3-8 ATS when getting over 50% of the spread tickets, and 0-3 when garnering 60+ percent of the tickets. Also working against Lawrence is the absence of his starting left tackle Cam Robinson per the Jaguars vs Jets injury report.

The trends, however, don’t necessarily support New York either. Jets QB Zach Wilson is 1-5 against the spread at home versus sub. 500 foes. Per the Jaguars vs Jets picks, New York is 0-6 ATS versus Jacksonville when coming off a loss against the spread, and 0-4 ATS in their last four Thursday contests.

Jacksonville vs New York Total Betting Splits

The total for this contest opened at 42 but that number has since plummeted. It’s been bet all the way down to 36.5, and given the betting splits it could drop even further.

54% of all money wagered on the total is on under 36.5, and that handle is coming from just 38% of the bets. Heavy winds and rain are in the forecast, but that’s not the only reason bettors are banking on a low-scoring affair.

Seven of the past nine New York games have gone under the total, including six straight started by Wilson. It should come as no surprise then, that one of our experts is recommending a Wilson fade in the Jaguars vs Jets player props.

The trends support this game going under as well. Thursday Night Football unders are 21-7 over the past few years when the game features a total of 40 or less.

Jaguars vs Jets Moneyline Splits

As far as the moneyline market goes, it’s a clear case of sharps versus squares. The big-money bettors are hammering New York, while the public is all over Jacksonville.

66% of the moneyline handle is on the Jags, and that’s coming from only 34% of the tickets. Jacksonville has won four of its last six games, erasing double-digit deficits in three of those victories. Three of those wins also came against teams currently occupying a playoff spot, while New York has beaten only two squads with a winning record all year.

The Jets are an underwhelming 3-4 straight up at home this season, but that record sparkles in comparison to the Jags’ road record over the last few years. Jacksonville is a dismal 2-18 straight up in its last 20 road games.
