“I Don’t Know How They’d Be Able To Do It” – JoeBucsFan.com – Tampa Bay Bucs Blog, Buccaneers News

Lamar Jackson and Bucs chatter.

The talk of the NFL today is how star Crows quarterback Lamar Jackson can be had so long as he can find a team to pay his ransom and part with two first round picks.

Several teams don’t need him as they have a quarterback. Several others don’t want him, likely spooked by his demand for guaranteed cash and injury history.

Are the Bucs interested? No one outside of One Buc Palace really knows. Last week at the combine, Joe learned Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht and Bucs coach Todd Bowles’ favorite word was “compete,” as if that is Kyle Trask’s new last name.

This just in: If a team knows who it’s quarterback is, that quarterback doesn’t “compete.”

The face of NFL Network, Rich Eisen, brought up the Bucs possibly going after Jackson on his weekday talk show. Eisen noted the Bucs have $35 million counting against their cap just because of Brady for this season, which would be a hazard in signing the former MVP.

“I don’t know how they’d be able to do it,” Eisen said of the Bucs signing Jackson.

The Bucs were included in a group of teams by Eisen producers as “TEAMS WHO TRULY NEED A QB.”

Eisen said as crazy-talented as Jackson is, there is no way he would give Jackson guaranteed cash due to his injury history.

Jackson was unable to finish the last two seasons because of injuries and has only played in 10 of the Crows’ last 22 games.
