Elijah Wants Moore Targets Elsewhere; Jets Receiver Requests Trade Following Challenging Week – JetNation.com (NY Jets Blog & Forum)

While some viewed the Jets recent victory over the Green Bay Packers as a turning point for the franchise, wide receiver Elijah Moore apparently viewed it as a turning point in his Jets career.

Uninterested in the game’s outcome and focused solely on the number of targets he saw (zero), Moore has asked the team for a trade according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

A dynamic play maker with high hopes coming into the season, Moore has had to sit and watch the team win games with the offense running through its ground attack as Breece Hall and Michael Carter garner the majority of touches on offense.  Moore saw just one pass come his way on Sunday on a play that was nullified on a penalty.  This, of course, meant zero official targets for Moore.

Moore tweeted after the game that he didn’t understand why he had so few targets and said he wasn’t going to say what he really wanted to say.  Well now it seems he has said it to the Jets front office in asking to be moved along.

While Moore’s frustration is understandable to a degree, it’s his not being happy with winning that’s going to rub Jets fans the wrong way.  The team’s loyal supporters have watched a lot of terrible football over the past ten years.  Now, on the verge of 5-2 with a playoff berth seeming more likely than anyone thought, Moore makes it about him.  Winning be damned, Moore wants to leave so he can put up more numbers.

This is a move that Moore is going to have a hard time living down.
